Too Casual?

For the past several days I've been hearing and reading about this topic. A few days ago on Oprah, the rule was no gym clothes outside the gym. Well, I've seen some pretty chic looking women in their gym clothes. So, let's clarify. We'll start with the don'ts....sweats, sweatshirts, colored ankle socks; short shorts; ratty t-shirts; and old beat up tennis shoes just to name a few. Sorry, but these are never ok except to paint your house! We all know that sometimes you've changed from work into casual clothes or forgotten about an errand you need to run and are certainly not going to "dress" for it. But, beware of what's easiest. If you don't want to see someone you know looking like you do, don't wear it! Black stretch workout pants or capris that fit are the safest, but, with no panty lines or bulges. Sorry. If those don't fit your body type then go with a pair that are less stretchy, more knit, that fit just below the belly button, not an elastic waist. An elastic waist on any pant will age you unbelievably. Pair those with a colorful, body skimming (not hugging) t-shirt and maybe a lightweight sports vest. Remember, few women can get away with a tight, stretch sports pant and look good. And finally, although I do love comfort and casual, going out for the day with some style is always my first choice. If I can help you in any way, just call! post signature
